Product Review: Vaseline Vitalizing Body Gel Oil

25 May

With summer (kind of) on its way, I am desperately trying to get my legs skirt-ready, and decided to resort to drastic measures. That for me means using Vaseline, as it is very greasy and will fix any dry-skin issue. I decided to use a quick drugstore find: Vaseline’s Total Moisture Vitalizing Body Gel Oil in Cocoa Radiant. After showering, I quickly toweled off and slathered the gel oil all over my body. The results? Mixed feelings.

It did work as promised, as it was so greasy that my skin remained moisturized, but that was the problem as well. It was really greasy! It would somehow end up on my fingers even though I had washed my hands a couple times. I’m the type of person who hates sleeping in a greasy puddle, and this was a bit too oily for me. But the product worked like a charm.

Wanna try for yourself? The Vaseline Vitalizing Body Gel Oil can be found at Target for $6.50.

Product Review: Lancome Flash Bronzer

9 May

With summer coming up, I couldn’t wait to share with you a quick way to bake without the burn! Sure, there are lots of self-tanners out there, but honestly I’ve tried them all and have yet to find something as great as the Lancome Flash Bronzer Tinted Self-Tanning Leg Gel. When it comes to self-tanners, I always consider three factors:

1) Streakiness

2) How real (or fake) the color looks

3) Drying speed

Not only does the Lancome Flash Bronzer have all three elements covered, but the best part is that it looks extremely natural! The color comes out in a beautiful golden brown (much like the bottle), and not orange. It also blends into your skin and is VERY forgiving on mistakes. Win, win, win.

Apply it at night and wake up with a beautiful glow! I recommend waiting an hour before going to bed, and always wear loose clothing. The Lancome Flash Bronzer can be brought at the Lancome website for $37.00. If you want something a bit more wallet-friendly, you can check out the sample size on Amazon for a third of the price! My first bottle was sample-sized, and I couldn’t wait to get more of it. Also, I know it says Leg Gel on the bottle, but I’ve read several reviews for this product and people like to use it on other body parts as well. So don’t be afraid to experiment!
