Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Tips

28 Dec

Mark your calendars January 2nd for the Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale!  As you may know, Victoria’s Secret has a huge makeup selection and some of their beauty products will be up to 75% off.  They usually have the same things on sale every year, from lip gloss to foundation to various body sprays.  In celebration of their sale, I’ve decided to do a post on how to get the Angels’ look.

To get the Victoria’s Secret Bombshell look, watch this video for a step-by-step instruction on model Candice Swanepoel done by world-leading makeup artist Charlotte Tillbury.  Here are some of Charlotte’s specific tips, as noted in the video:

The Victoria’s Secret look is broken down into four steps: skin, eyes, cheeks, and lips.

1.  Moisturize the skin to prep before putting foundation on.

2.  Apply foundation, then concealer underneath the eyes.

3.  Use a rich brown eyeshadow underneath the eyes to make eyes appear bigger.

4.  Now use the same brown eyeshadow to outline the socket of your eyelids.  Draw the corners out onto the edge of your eye to elongate the shape.  Join up the edges from your lashline.

5.  Take a big brush and blend the brown shadow.

6.  Use chocolate liner along your lashline.

7.  Apply false lashes.

8.  Add mascara if necessary.

9.  Using a big brush, apply blush to the top of the cheekbones.

10.  Apply lip liner, then fill in with lipstick.

11.  Add some gloss to finish with that extra sparkle.

Here’s another fun video on how to get that VS Bombshell look, if you needed another reference.  This video isn’t as detailed but shows you what the finished product looks like overall on different models, with makeup artist Julie Harris.  It basically includes the same tips.  What I like about the Victoria’s Secret Angels look is that you can do these looks day or night, as their makeup is very subtle and is classically beautiful.

Now that you have the tools and tips to emulate the Victoria’s Secret bombshells, have fun shopping and experimenting!
