Product Review: Sinful Shine Nail Polish

So a couple of posts ago I told you guys about the new Sinful Shine collection and was excited to try it. I finally found the time to go to my local Walgreens and picked up Sinful Shine in Sailor’s Delight. I gotta have my pink!

Image

The results? It was indeed very shiny, but nothing crazy like I had expected. I think they did such a great job with their marketing that I expected more than what they could deliver. But still, it definitely has a high shine and looked fresh for a week. It also chips off pretty well, which means it is easy to remove if you’re a nail chipper (which I am!). A quick warning: You must apply three full coats for the color to reach its maximum color potential. As for the shade Sailor’s Delight, I prefer a more pale pink and this was a little too bright for me. It looks great in pictures, but in person it’s a bit too much. However, it is still very worthy of its price, and I may try another shade when I get the chance.

Sinful Shine nail polish can be found at Walgreens for $2.99 a bottle. Happy shining!

Sinful Shine is Here!

So remember my recent post about Sinful Colors and how amazing the polish was for the price? Well, today I was at Walgreens and spotted a sleek-looking display with shiny bottles sticking out sideways. It caught my eye so much that I had to get a close-up, as something usually has to be amazing to get my attention. Sure enough, it was. On the bottom of the display it said “Sinful Shine With Gel Tech…5X more glossy than a patent leather shoe”. I thought it was a great marketing technique to compare nail polish to a shiny shoe. The first shades that caught my eye were definitely the pink and the teal polishes, as I don’t have a teal yet. The pink looks like another great shade to add to my collection, as I’m always searching for the perfect pink. Is it the next Sally Hansen for me? I wonder. Although I didn’t see a price tag anywhere, I did some research online and I found that they were $2.99 each, which is a pretty good price for its quality. I didn’t have time to really look at all of them or make any purchases, but I am definitely going back and choosing my favorites. Hopefully I won’t damage my wallet too much!

Product Review: Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Nail Polish

Today I can’t wait to bring to you a really great nail polish I found- the Sally Hansen Hard As Nails nail polish in Hard-core Party #160. This is the best polish because it’s not too opaque or transparent; it’s just the right amount of, well, everything. I found that applying 2-3 coats looks best, with 3 coats reaching its maximum color potential.

I’ve gotten lots of compliments on the color, as it’s such an attractive pink. It’s natural enough for daytime, but is still noticeable at night. If you love pink nails like I do, you definitely have to give this shade a try!

The Sally Hansen Hard As Nails polish can be found in most drugstores for $1.99 (yup, a cheap polish with amazing color and quality, I’ve done it again).

I have great news today! I have been searching everywhere for the perfect neon pink nail polish, and I think I’ve found it just in time for summer! Neon pink is very rare in drugstores, so by default I picked up the one and only Sinful Colors Professional nail polish #920. And I am so glad I did.

Not only have I found what I’ve been looking for, but it may just be the most convenient nail polish of all time. You can take my word for it because I’m very picky about my polishes, and I’m the type of girl who sizes up every shade the same way I would size up a man for marriage. I mean, nail polish is a huge commitment, as it stays on your fingers for a whole week!

Sinful Solors 920 24-7 006

When I first tried the nail polish, I instantly thought that it was the perfect shade of neon pink. Not too obnoxious, but not boring either. And the best part is that it comes out matte, so it dries almost immediately. So you can go on with the rest of your day carefree.

The really best part? It’s only $1.99 and can be found at Walgreens. So get one for you and a friend!

Moustache Nails!

So this may not exactly fall under the newest trend category but I do think it’s very cute and worth mentioning…feast your eyes on… moustache nails!!! I personally love French manicures so this is a great twist on the classic look.

Here’s the video on how to copy this look as well, I can’t wait to try it myself!

Trend Alert: Fancy Nails

15 Oct

Gone are the days where people used one color on their nails (or if they’re feeling brave, two) and then a clear topcoat.  Now, nails have all kinds of crazy designs that can make a manicure that much more noticeable.

You can achieve similar looks with Sally Hansen’s Salon Effects – Real Nail Polish Strips, which are available at drugstores for below $10 and can last for over a week.  Just be sure to trim them so they aren’t too long and over-the-top.  A nice oval shape looks best with complicated designs, as you can see above.  Happy painting!
